Session Details

In the EU, Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) are facing increasing pressure to adopt reusable packaging programs as part of broader efforts to reduce single-use plastic waste and promote a circular economy, with regulations like the Single-Use Plastics Directive and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation driving this shift. In the US, QSRs are increasingly implementing reusable packaging programs, often in partnership with reusable packaging platforms and providers. What can each region learn from each other and how can policy continue to play a key role to drive this forward? In this session we will hear from key stakeholders from each region sharing their perspective on implementation, scale and policy. Featuring Nathan Dufour (Reuse Systems Manager at Zero Waste Europe and Leader of the ReuSe Vanguard Project), Jeremy Blake (Director Circular Economy, Berry Global) and moderated by Olga Kachook (SPC Director, GreenBlue)
