Nike Mortier is manager of the departments Disintegration and Environmental safety at Normec OWS in Ghent, Belgium for whom she has worked for more than 15 years already.

In this capacity, she is involved in biodegradation, composting, disintegration and toxicity testing and consultancy services. Nike Mortier has authored or co-authored several scientific articles and literature studies related to industrial composting, home composting, anaerobic digestion and biodegradation. Besides she is an active participant of several ISO and CEN working groups in this field.

She took her MSc in Agricultural Engineering at the State University of Ghent in 2008 prior to joining OWS.
