Biography

As Vice President, Global Research and Development and Sustainability for Avery Dennison, Pascale Wautelet oversees seven corporate and regional R&D centers and teams worldwide, provides strategic vision and innovation direction to over 400 scientists and drives an innovative pipeline of products and solutions.

Pascale is a visionary leader who recognizes the need for continuous transformation. She has a proven track record of establishing high-impact world-class innovation functions that deliver future-proof business results. Pascale has extensive value chain experience and the ability to identify patterns and bridge innovation, technology and sustainability, enabling her to foster breakthrough thinking and build industry-leading innovation capabilities across multiple horizons. She is a passionate advocate for sustainability and leads the Materials Group’s global sustainability agenda. Pascale is an active WBCSD council member.

Pascale joined Avery Dennison in 2017 after more than 20 years of international and domestic experience across multiple functions in the chemical/petrochemical/plastic industry, including flexible packaging and labeling. She also served as Global Technology Director at Jindal Films, overseeing corporate innovation and research and development across Europe and North America and with ExxonMobil, where she held leadership positions in Sales, Operations, Innovation and R&D.

Pascale earned her Ph.D. in materials and polymer chemistry and physics and a master’s degree in polymer chemistry at the University Louis Pasteur of Strasbourg, France. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium. Pascale is based in The Hague, Netherlands where she lives with her husband and their two teenagers.
