Carsten Bertram is a plastic technology engineer with a deep-rooted passion for packaging innovation and sustainability. Having learned packaging development from the ground up, he launched at Henkel a 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic bottle back in 2011—well ahead of industry trends. Over the years, Carsten has held various R&D packaging roles within Henkel’s Consumer Brands business, where he has consistently combined hands-on technical expertise with strategic vision. Today, he leads global packaging sustainability for Henkel Consumer Brands, driving forward the circular economy and the science and technology behind it.
