Valerio Sama completed a successful degree in Waste Management Engineering at the Technical University in Aachen (RWTH). Fascinated by the intersection of technology and management, he pursued a second degree, earning a Master of Science in Technology and Innovation Management. His career journey began in 2010 at Tomra, a global leader in recycling technology and reverse vending. There, he held various positions, gaining valuable insights into the industry. Starting in research and development, he swiftly progressed, taking on the role of Head of Product Management, where he was instrumental in developing and launching new products. With a strong focus on sustainability and circular economy, Valerio temporarily transitioned to a Retailer, serving as Head of Circular Economy. In October 2023, Valerio returned to Tomra, into the position of Business Development Manager with focus on advanved mechanical recycling. In this role, he is defining the long-term market direction and making strategic decisions to strengthen Tomra's market position. Through his solid education and diverse professional experiences, he has established himself as an expert in waste management, technology management, and circular economy, passionately advocating for a sustainable future.
