Since 2021 Marcel van Eijk is the R&D manager at NTCP focusing on research programmes around characterisation, sorting and washing in the context of circular plastics. Additionally, he spends one day a week as associate professor in circular plastics at Maastricht University. Marcel has a long-lasting background in both academic as well as industrial research on the boundary of chemistry and physics. He is the technical lead of the Perfect Sorting Consortium that developed a demonstrator on AI based sorting for application driven recycling of packaging plastics.
